South Beach Homes For Sale
South Beach is located on the eastern shore of Staten Island, just south of the Verrazano Bridge. In the 1920's, South Beach was a vacation destination and many of the homes were built as summer residences. Now, it is a popular area for people who want to live near the city, but don't want to pay the high housing prices found in Brooklyn. South Beach itself is a huge beach ideal for sprawling out in the sunshine, offering views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Lower New York Bay.

South Beach has been designed to provide fun for people of all ages. The result? South Beach events attract the largest crowds on Staten Island! There were once many amusement parks and arcades found in South Beach - most had closed by the 1970's and the last one closed in 2006. Today, Shore Acres is still extremely popular thanks to the South Beach Boardwalk, which has had $20 million allotted for improvements over the last ten years. The Boardwalk is now 1.7 miles and used by bicyclists, runners, and walkers. It is also the location for free events such as concerts and fireworks in the summer. With a beautiful seafood restaurant open year-round and the Ocean Breeze Fishing Pier - the largest fishing pier in the city at 835 feet long - the boardwalk is a popular place to spend time enjoying the ocean air.
South Beach has many unique amenities and services to offer its residents. A branch of the New York Public Library is located at Ocean Avenue and Father Capodanno Boulevard. Elementary schools include PS39, PS41 and PS 46. The main road is Father Capodanno Boulevard, once named "Shore Front Drive" because of its proximity to the shoreline. South Beach has a senior park with checkerboard tables, bocce courts, and benches. Additionally, South Beach has a playground, roller hockey rink, shuffleboard, ball fields, beach volleyball, lifeguards, and picnic areas.
