The city developed a new garbage can for drivers who litter and can currently be found on Staten Island streets. This new garbage was made in hopes of stopping litter on the street from drivers and passengers who throw their remains out the car window, enforcing the anti-litter campaign that was started years ago. 

Councilman Steven Matteo had announced that the city will test this new garbage can that is designed to be able to catch drivers trash without them getting out of their cars. The garbage bin will have a wide net and reflectors installed on the top to catch the trash that has been thrown. The device also has a large mesh backboard for the trash to bounce off of and land in the can.

Staten Island has been busy building various structures in many different neighborhood locations. As most know by now, in the area of St. George, there will be the world's largest observation wheel. Last month, the legs for the wheel arrived, moving construction forward. 

The New York Observation Wheel was set to open in late 2015, has been pushed back several times since early 2012. Now that construction has undergone, some of the newest delays are due to many of the pieces for the observation wheel are being shipped from far away places.
