We will no longer have to travel to Manhattan or head to a New York Mets game to be able to enjoy a Shake Shack burger! The chain is opening up in the Staten Island Mall!
The popular burger chain has recently leased space inside the Staten Island Mall as part of the expansion project that is currently underway. The construction at the Staten Island Mall began this year and will include redevelopment and an expansion project that will add restaurants, stores, a public plaza, and a 53,000-square foot movie theater.
This Shake Shack location will be the first in Staten Island but the seventeenth citywide once it opens in 2019. Another chain that has been announced to open up in the mall is Dave and Busters.
In 2014, we ran a survey asking residents which places they wish would open up on Staten Island. As of today, three of those places are currently making their way to Staten Island! Which place do you hope makes the next announcement?
