“Getting Better All The Time”

Located at 41 Reid Avenue, on Staten Island’s East Shore, you can find Public School 46. This school was completed around the 1930s for the children of the area. Today, it is also known as the Albert V. Maniscalco School. Albert V. Maniscalco was Staten Island’s Borough President between 1954 and 1965. During his time as the Borough President, he planned and completed the construction of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and he added 24 more schools to the Island.

Today this school holds classes for Kindergarten up to the fifth grade and has some separated special education classes. Public School 46 offers programs and extracurricular activities for the students. These include the Orton Gillingham Tutorial program, Math and Spelling Bees, Test Prep after-school program, food drives, walkathon, grade trips, Latchkey, Movie Nights, and more. This school also has a computer room, wireless laptops, and classroom computers for the students to use.
