"Everyone Learns Everyday"

Public School 5, also known as the Huguenot School, is located at 348 Deisius Street. The school was constructed after the original building for Public School 5, which was located at Amboy Road and Huguenot Avenue, had to be surrendered in 1937. The school took the name of the first building, which it was designated as on March 22, 1916.

Public School 5 educates children from pre-kindergarten through the fifth grade, and it offers special education programs. After-school workshops are offered to students, which help them increase their skills in literacy, math, and computers. Public School 5 also has the after-school Latch Key program available for its students.
