Redecorating your home can be pricey. Instead of just settling for something inexpensive that you feel lukewarm about, do the temporary replacement instead. Do-It-Yourself projects do not have to be limited to arts and crafts and homemade accessories. It can be a great way to brighten up your home! Use some of these DIY Home Decorating Projects around your house while you are saving up for the big projects!

  • Picture Frame Mosaic: You can buy cheap picture frames in different sizes and add any picture you want: favorite artwork, personal picture, or even posters! It is a good way to cover up an empty wall until you are certain on what you want to do with it.  
  • Paint your furniture: As has mentioned in a "Top Ten" feature, painting your old furniture gives it new life. Give it a new coat of finishing, or paint it a new color to make it feel brand new! This is a great temporary fix until you can buy the new set you want.
  • Add an installation: If your ceiling seems bare and you want hanging light fixtures, but your wallet is a little empty, try installations instead. You can make a ribbon installation or make a circle lantern display. They both can be accessorized with Christmas lights or hanging bulbs.
  • Jazz up your storage units: Whether it is your dresser, cabinets, or wardrobe, you can decorate it to become your own! Make a DIY cabinet toe kick with contact paper and washi tape. You can even change the handles or knobs by heading to a hardware store. Those can range from 50 cents to $3 dollars. It is a cheap replacement to make your draws feel new!
