The last way you want to spend Thanksgiving is in an emergency room! Have a safe and happy thanksgiving with these very important safety tips for any homeowner!

  • Check batteries in your fire alarm: The alarm can save your life in the event of a fire, so make sure it is working properly.
  • Do not leave the kitchen while food is being fried, grilled, boiled, or baked!: If you must leave the kitchen for any reason, do not leave the food unattended. Bring someone to keep an eye on it. Checking a regular eye on the cooking food will keep from any disaster.
  • Wear appropriate clothing while cooking: Do not wear loose fitting clothes or dangling sleeves while working in the kitchen. You do not want to get caught on anything, especially fire! You can always change after you complete cooking,
  • Child safety: Keep the kids away from the stove, hot liquids, and knives.
  • Frying turkey: If you are frying the turkey, make sure to do it outdoors, away from the exterior of your home. Also be sure to read and follow the manufacture’s instructions carefully.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
